Dark They Were, And Golden Eyed, by Ray Bradbury thesis statement(Poem Form)

How can I make a poem out of a book review? Well, I'm special. My thesis statement was"Harry bittering was afraid of the changes Mars was making."

In Dark They Were, And Golden Eyed
Harry Bittering almost died
Of shock when he found
That the food he grew in Martian ground
Was changing him into an alien!

But perhaps I should explain some more:
To escape Earth’s awful war
Henry and his family thought it would be safer in the stars!
So they flew off in a rocket (with some others) to the red planet, Mars!

They grew their food in Martian soil
Picking crops without toil
‘Till Henry found the food was turning him into an alien!

That’s when Henry heard that the rockets on Earth had been obliterated
All hopes he had of escaping faded
So he decided to build a rocket
Not a toy one for his son that he could fit in his pocket,
But a ship that would bring his family to Earth safely

He spent day after day in the workshop
Eating food only from the families deep freeze
(Carrots, tomatoes, meat, and frozen peas)
He worked on the rocket and would not stop!
And then the family’s deep freeze ran out
(Strangely Henry didn’t scream or shout)
And Henry was forced to eat food from Mars

And then he changed to Aleinoid
(So it was right for him to be paranoid?)
And when the world was all done
People from Earth set out for Mars
Little did the know the shouldn’t have come
For they would turn into Martians too
We humans should never mess with the stars
